Poco is getting ready to unveil the M5, their newest low-cost smartphone. Today, the business said that M5 will go on sale in India at 5:30 PM IST on September 5. It appears that MediaTek’s Helio G99 SoC will power the Poco M5 based on leaks and rumours. It appears that the business will only release the 4G version of the phone; the Poco M5S, which supports 5G, won’t be sold in India.
A 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate is reportedly another characteristic of the Poco M5. The M5 may include a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging capabilities, just like its predecessor. The power button may also include the fingerprint scanner.
It might ship with three different configurations—the base model has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, another model has 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and the top-end model has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage—and run MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12.
Additionally, if we take a look at a tweet from Poco’s India account, we can see the wording in the bottom left corner of the introduction video that says the phone will be priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 13,000.
Poco M5 Launch in India
In India, the POCO M5 will debut as a new low-cost smartphone. At 5.30 PM IST on September 5, the phone will be on sale. For its worldwide supporters who want to see the M5 launch event, the business will conduct a virtual event.
Specification
A dual-tone back will be present on the M5 4G. It appears that the POCO Yellow colour has a leather back. The phone has a black colour camera module design with the POCO trademark on the right corner, as was already described. The gadget has three cameras and an LED flash module. POCO has not made the phone’s camera specifications public.
There is a water-drop notch at the front. Except for the broad chin, the bezels are relatively narrow. The M5 4G will include a 6.58-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with support for a 90Hz refresh rate, according to the leaked specifications. Up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage are included. In addition, a 5000mAh battery with out-of-the-box support for 33W rapid charging is rumoured to be included in the POCO.
The MediaTek Helio G99 4G SoC is most likely the source of the device’s power. It will ship pre-installed with MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12. We may anticipate that the M5 will cost roughly Rs 13,000 in India, according to the leaked information. On September 5, the event will make formal price announcements. The phone will be offered for purchase on Flipkart shortly after its debut.
