$tackz, a lyrical hip hop artist from Meridian, Mississippi started music at the young age of 10, inspired by his younger brother CJ who made $tackz record his first song in his closet at home. Now an independent artist, he is releasing music and playing shows, even performing at The House of Blues in New Orleans in front of over three thousand people. $tackz has also had the pleasure of working with various producers such as DJ XO.
$tackz recently released the music video for his song “Pop My Shit” featuring DJ XO. His real, authentic, and lyrical style is on full display on the track. The Mississippi artist draws inspiration from hip hop legends such as Lil Wayne and The Notorious B.I.G musically. The latest release will be followed by a project titled “The Come Up 2.” It boasts major features by Kirko Bangz, Enzo Mcfly, and DJ XO and is set to drop on October 5th. In an interview, $tackz explained, “It is about coming home from doing a year in prison and maintaining my family at the same time. It is about coming from nothing.” This mention of family is at the center of what $tackz does and he says that “a day inside my shoes is crazy! I have five kids, so I cannot stop moving and providing.” There is much more in the works for this artist, and, in the end, he hopes people will say that his music is real and that it made them feel something.
