Downloadable PS4 and PS5 games in the Game Catalog are exclusively available to gamers who subscribe to the service’s Extra or Premium tiers, as opposed to December’s PlayStation Plus Essential games, which are free for all members to claim.
Many new games were released this month, including multiple entries in the Far Cry and Yakuza series, the Middle-Earth games Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, and WWE 2K22 (among others).
PS3 games can be streamed from the cloud, and PS1, PS2, and PSP games can be downloaded from the service’s premium tier.
Ridge Racer 2 for the PSP, Heavenly Sword for the PS3, Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus for the PS1, and Pinball Heroes for the PS2 are all new entries to the Classics Catalog in the month of December (PSP).
Except for WWE 2K22, which will be added on January 3, 2023, all of the following games will be made available to subscribers immediately.

Included in December’s PlayStation Plus Essentials lineup are Mass Effect: Legendary Edition (PS4), Biomutant (PS5/PS4), and Divine Knockout: Founder’s Edition (PS5).
