Tim Robinson Hits HBO, Robert De Niro Joins Netflix, and Disney+ Explores Wakanda

Also, keep an eye out for new series by Tina Fey, Tim Robinson, Mindy Kaling, and Lena Dunham. It’s going to be an exciting year.
American Primeval (Netflix, January 9)
Cast: Taylor Kitsch, Betty Gilpin, Shea Wigham, Dane DeHaan, Jai Courtney, Joe Tippett
Overview: Peter Berg, known for Friday Night Lights, ventures into the American West with this new series set in 1857. American Primeval explores the battles over faith and community in the untamed frontier, hinting at a narrative style reminiscent of Taylor Sheridan’s work.
The Pitt (Max, January 9)
Cast: Noah Wyle, Tracy Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden
Overview: ER writer R. Scott Gemmill and actor Noah Wyle collaborate once more, this time on a hospital drama that unfolds in real time, à la 24. Each episode covers an hour of a grueling 15-hour shift at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital.
Prime Target (Apple TV+, January 22)
Cast: Leo Woodall, Quintessa Swindell, Martha Plimpton, Harry Lloyd
Overview: This gripping conspiracy drama follows a young mathematician on the verge of cracking a code that could give him control over every computer in the world. His groundbreaking work attracts dangerous attention, with an NSA agent assigned to monitor his every move.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (Disney+, January 29)
Cast: Hudson Thames, Hugh Dancy, Colman Domingo, Charlie Cox, Paul F. Tompkins
Overview: The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Five continues with this animated series that delves into Spider-Man’s origins. This time, it’s not Tom Holland’s Peter Parker but rather an alternate version where Hudson Thames’s character is mentored by Norman Osborn instead of Tony Stark.
Zero Day (Netflix, February)

Running Point (Netflix, winter)

Overview: In this sports comedy by Mindy Kaling, Kate Hudson stars as a woman who unexpectedly takes the reins of her family’s beloved basketball team, assembling a motley crew to assert her place in a male-dominated field.
Suits: L.A. (NBC, February)
Cast: Stephen Amell, Bryan Greenberg, Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis
Overview: Following the streaming success of Suits, this spin-off by series creator Aaron Korsh features a former federal prosecutor (Stephen Amell) who pivots to representing high-profile clients in the entertainment industry of Los Angeles. Gabriel Macht makes guest appearances as Harvey Specter.
Dope Thief (Apple TV+, March 14)
Cast: Brian Tyree Henry, Wagner Moura, Kate Mulgrew, Ving Rhames
Overview: Adapted from the crime novel by the same name, Dope Thief follows two friends from Philadelphia who impersonate DEA agents to rob drug dealers. Their scheme lands them in hot water when they inadvertently become tangled in a major drug operation. Ridley Scott serves as a producer and directs the premiere episode.
Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+, March 4)
Cast: Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Jon Bernthal
Overview: The vigilante lawyer of Hell’s Kitchen, Matt Murdock, returns in Daredevil: Born Again, continuing the narrative from Netflix’s Daredevil series with a fresh twist. Murdock faces off against Wilson Fisk alongside his closest allies, while new threats loom on the horizon, possibly tied to MCU Phase Five.
The Residence (Netflix, March 20)
Cast: : Uzo Aduba, Susan Kelechi Watson, Giancarlo Esposito, Randall Park, Ken Marino, Eliza Coupe
Overview: Produced by Shondaland, The Residence introduces us to the inner workings of The White House through the eyes of an unconventional detective (Uzo Aduba), who is called in to solve a murder that took place during a state dinner. As she investigates, the lives and secrets of about 160 staffers unfold.
The Studio (Apple TV+, March 26)
Cast: Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Bryan Cranston
Overview: “I started in this business because I love movies, but now I’m terrified that my role is to destroy them,” laments Seth Rogen’s studio head in this dark comedy about the movie industry, which promises numerous star-studded cameos, including one by Martin Scorsese.
Your Friends And Neighbors (Apple TV+, April 11)
Cast: Jon Hamm, Olivia Munn, Amanda Peet, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero
Overview: In Your Friends And Neighbors, Jon Hamm portrays a recently divorced and unemployed hedge fund manager who, in an effort to maintain his status, begins burglarizing the homes of his affluent neighbors. His clandestine activities unveil a web of secrets hidden behind their opulent exteriors.
Government Cheese (Apple TV+, April 16)
Cast: David Oyelowo, Simone Missick, Bokeem Woodbine, Sunita Mani
Overview: This surreal family comedy is set in 1969 and follows a man (David Oyelowo) as he returns home from prison, disrupting the lives of his wife and two children.
Deli Boys (Hulu, March 6)
Cast: Poorna Jagannathan, Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, Alfie Fuller, Brian George
Overview: In collaboration with Onyx Collective, Hulu presents this half-hour comedy. It follows two Pakistani-American brothers who inherit their father’s supposed nationwide convenience store chain, only to discover it’s a front for drug smuggling, placing them in the crosshairs of dangerous adversaries.
Sirens (Netflix, late spring)
Cast: Meghann Fahy, Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock, Kevin Bacon, Glenn Howerton
Overview: Maid creator Molly Smith Metzler returns to Netflix with an enthralling limited series. In Sirens, two sisters find themselves entangled in the opulent yet bizarre world of a socialite (Julianne Moore), who rules more like a cult leader. The sisters must navigate a treacherous weekend at her seaside estate.
Murderbot (Apple TV+, May)
Cast: Alexander Skarsgård, David Dastmalchian, Noma Dumezweni, Sabrina Wu
Overview: Continuing its foray into sci-fi, Apple TV+ brings to life Murderbot, based on the novels by Martha Wells. The series features a sentient android (Alexander Skarsgård) who must conceal his self-awareness, complete perilous missions, and avoid getting too close to humans.
A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms (HBO, June 15)
Cast: Peter Claffey, Finn Bennett, Dexter Sol Ansell, Daniel Ings, Bertie Carvel
Overview: HBO expands the Game Of Thrones universe with another prequel, this time focusing on the lesser-known tales from George R.R. Martin’s novella The Hedge Knight. It chronicles the adventures of the valiant Ser Duncan and his small squire, Egg.
Ironheart (Disney+, June 24)
Cast: Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich
Overview: Following her debut in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams steps into the limelight in Ironheart. The series explores her life post-movie, including her return to Chicago and her alliance with the superhero known as The Hood (Anthony Ramos).
