Samsung announced their latest Galaxy phone. Its an interesting one. Its the Galaxy J2 Pro. For a smartphone, it lacks the one thing which is essential to any smartphone. It lacks any kind of cellular data connectivity, not even wifi is available on it.
No 3G, no LTE, no Wi-Fi, no nothing. Samsung says the phone is intended for students and senior citizens as a way for them to make calls and use apps, minus the distractions or confusions of going online.
The J2 Pro can only make calls, text, use FM Radio, calculator, alarm and samsung has also put an offline dictionary. Thats just about it, just the basics a student needs.
Seeing the purpose for which the Galaxy J2 Pro is made, it does not need high-end specs to run smoothly
- 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras
- 5-inch qHD AMOLED display
- 1.4GHz quad-core processor
- 1.5GB of RAM
- 2,600mAh removable battery
- MicroSD card slot for expandable memory
Right now the Galaxy J2 Pro is available in Korea for 199,100 won; that converts to about $185, £130 or AU$240. Samsung has not said if it would be released in other countries.
