Design and art are becoming increasingly available so that mediums cannot be mistaken. For example, take graphic design, graphic images, and illustrations. Such interlinked, closely connected types of art can be easily misunderstood. Most notable artists from the 20th century simply earn a living by switching back and forth between the conceptual and technical fields of illustration. How and where you put them is the key distinction between graphic design and illustration. Graphic design usually focuses more economically, though illustration is tied to a fine art. As more projects that are private need to have graphics that are emotional and distinct, these distinctions are less evident over time.

When we talk about the Children’s book illustration style, one has to be an observer and then a designer. Because the moods of swings of the children are unpredictable. One cannot know what a child wants to read when he is in playful mode, a sad mode, or a happy and enthusiastic mode. To overcome these moods of the kids, one must write the stories, that can teach them different lessons, indirectly if not directly. There are seven elements of graphic design; these are the initial step for a designer to follow so that they can make a successful piece of art. These can be used in any form of design.

Line:

In any template, the line is usually there, whether it is a solid 1px or a 5px dotted boundary. Each website has lines, but over the past few years, the minimalist model that has been more popular attempts to remove or at least eliminate the use of lines from their formats. The lines may be long, colored, straight, small, gray, brief, black, or curved, and all of them belong in the same group.

The Shape:

The shape and form is the second essential element of the design. The shapes are still common, the reason behind this is because when you need something to stand out, it is the form or the shape. Circles, quadratic, rectangular or some other theoretical form can be found; at least one of these can be used in most designs. Minimalist projects use it a lot because it is mostly based on sketches and diagrams. Such as the children’s book, instructional guidelines, or any other.

Textures:

A few years ago, the textures were not that very common, but they are being used increasingly. They have replaced the single-colored background. Textures can appear like solid background colors yet slight still significant variations can be found if they are studied closely. Surface styled in flat or smooth colors, composed of paper, you may feel the hard or smooth texture of the paper when you turn the page and natural elements.

Color:

Among the seven elements, it is deemed to be one of the elements that cannot be ignored. Colors are noticeable; they do not need graphic skills. Colors produce feelings like thrilling in red, calmness in blue and natural in green. When you are working on the book for the kids, you have to be very careful in knowing the color theories. These colors reflect the personality of the kid and the character you are showing.

Value:

This is not about the importance this value means the shades of the colors. Value is more common and indicates how dark or light the concept is. Value seems to have very much to do with emotion. Once you start understanding the shades of the color, it will be easy for you to illustrate designs for children. The lighter shades have different impacts and emotions while the darker ones have different effects and appearances.

Space:

Space is the element through which a person can read the text easily. Recently the leftover space or white space is named “negative space” which is as important as the positive space. White space does not mean the page has white color it can be of any other color background. Even the color is an important element of the design, but space also plays its part. It helps the human eye to differentiate many small changes in the layouts.

Size:

Size plays a crucial role in all of the above. When you are writing content in the book, the size of the font matters. If you are adding the image or drawing the character in the book, the size of that picture matter in the context of the page. It is significant in transferring values, the importance of the material design in the book. Moreover, to create a contrast on the page.
