Are you ready to transform your living room into a cinema? The JMGO O2S Ultra, initially unveiled at CES 2025, has finally landed in France, packing a punch with its cutting-edge technology disguised in an ultra-compact design. This isn’t just another short-throw projector; it’s a game-changer in home entertainment. Let’s dive into what makes the JMGO O2S Ultra a must-have for movie lovers and tech enthusiasts alike.
Compact Powerhouse of Technology
Unveiled at CES 2025, the JMGO O2S Ultra shares the DNA of its predecessor, the N1 Ultra, but in a more compact form. Measuring just 31 cm in width and 14 cm in height, it stands in stark contrast to the larger models in the market like the Formovie Theater Premium or the Hisense PX3-Pro. Despite its size, the O2S Ultra is equipped with a robust tri-laser MALC 3.0 system and a 0.47″ DLP chip, which together produce a simulated 4K Ultra HD image through XPR4 wobulation. It shines brightly with 3600 lumens ISO and covers 110% of the BT.2020 color space, promising stunning visuals.
Breaking Barriers in Projection
The O2S Ultra promises to project a 100-inch (254 cm) 4K image from just 16.8 cm away from the wall. This impressive capability not only showcases the growing expertise of the Chinese manufacturer in the projector market but also highlights the advanced stage of development in ultra-short-throw (UST) projection technology.
Enhanced Viewing Experience
The projector supports all current HDR formats, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG, backed by Dynamic Tone Mapping that adjusts the image scene-by-scene. This feature, typically found in more expensive projectors, ensures optimal detail preservation and contrast. The O2S Ultra also simplifies the setup process with its automatic functions like focus, framing, keystone correction, and obstacle detection, turning a plain wall into a cinema screen in seconds.
Superior Sound and Connectivity
In terms of audio, JMGO has partnered again with Dynaudio to integrate two 10W speakers certified with Dolby Audio and DTS-HD, ensuring that the sound quality matches the superior visuals. Connectivity options are comprehensive, including HDMI 2.1 (with eARC), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, AirPlay 2, and built-in Chromecast.
Under the hood, the projector is powered by a MediaTek MT9679 processor, supplemented with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, and runs Google TV with Netflix preinstalled, offering a seamless streaming experience.
A Major Leap for JMGO
Priced at €2,999 (or €5,899 with a 120-inch motorized screen), the JMGO O2S Ultra is positioned to compete with the big names in the projector market. On paper, it certainly holds its ground against more prestigious rivals, and only a thorough test will confirm if it truly delivers a “cinema 17 centimeters from the wall.” However, it is clear that JMGO has possibly crafted its most advanced model to date, signaling a significant step forward in the company’s product evolution.
