The biggies

The Twisted Tale Of Amanda Knox (Hulu, Wednesday, 12:01 a.m.)

Hulu’s new miniseries delves into the dramatic life of Amanda Knox (played by Grace Van Patten), an American student studying abroad who was implicated in her roommate’s murder in Italy in 2007. Knox herself serves as an executive producer on the series. Across eight episodes, Twisted explores the police investigation, media frenzy, and Knox’s battle with the legal system. Sharon Horgan and Giuseppe De Dominico also feature prominently. Check out The A.V. Club‘s review for more insights.

Peacemaker (HBO Max, Thursday, 9 p.m.)

The concept of the multiverse expands in the latest episodes of Peacemaker, following its introduction in Superman earlier this year. The series sees Chris Smith (John Cena) grappling with his identity as different versions of his allies and enemies emerge, causing chaos. Adding to the turmoil, Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) seeks vengeance on Chris for the death of his son. The A.V. Club will offer weekly recaps of each episode.

Long Story Short (Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.)

Raphael Bob-Waksberg, known for BoJack Horseman, presents a new animated series about the Schwhooper family. Drawing inspiration from his own childhood, Long Story Short spans several years, tracking the lives of three siblings (voiced by Ben Feldman, Abbi Jacobson, and Max Greenfield) at various life stages. Expect a review from The A.V. Club on its release day.
