Have you seen a Facebook video that you want to download to your Computer or Mobile phone?

The good news is that nowadays, you can download Facebook videos to any device without the need for third-party software. And best of all, it’s not very complicated if you know what tools to use.

Facebook is the biggest social networking platform in the world, with over 1.5 billion monthly active users. People of all ages use Facebook to share special moments with their friends and family. With a few taps of your fingertips, you can see what your best friend has been up to or catch up on the latest celebrity gossip. You can even browse through your feed, looking at countless hours of photos and videos.

But what if you come across a video that you’d like to save to view offline or just outside of Facebook?

While Facebook makes it easy to save videos in the way of bookmarks, it doesn’t allow you to download those videos to your devices. If you want to download Facebook videos, you’ll need to look into using third-party tools to assist in saving videos for later.

Downloading Facebook videos to your PC & Iphone

When researching this article we came across a number of websites that let you download Facebook videos to your PC or iPhone. They pretty much work all the same, but we find the most reliable one being FBDownloader.

FBDownloader makes it easy to download videos. It has a sleek and easy-to-use design, making it the perfect Facebook downloader for everyone. To start using the website, you’ll need to head over to Facebook and find the video you’re interested in. If you are on a PC, copy the Facebook video URL from the browser. On an iPhone, tap the share icon and select the copy video link. Open up the Facebook Downloader web page if a new tab or browser window. Click or tap the input box, then paste the URL into the box and hit the button. Wait for the website to generate the download links for it.

FBDownloader will generate two download options for you. You can download the video in HD or SD quality, both in MP4 formats. You’re also able to download the video as an MP3 audio file.

Other web-based apps that work in a similar way are Getfvid and FBOffline.

Save Facebook videos on an Android

For those using an Android phone, there are many third-party Facebook video downloader apps. One free option is the video downloader for Facebook.

Since the app is free to use, you’ll have to, unfortunately, deal with annoying ads. There’s an option to pay to remove the advertisements, but we find that the ads are just a minor inconvenience. To install the app, head over to the android app store, and search for the app by name.

Using the app is just as straightforward as using the web downloader. Once you’re within the Facebook app, tap the three dots in the top right corner of the video that you want to save and copy the video link. Once you’ve copied the link, open up the Video Downloader for Facebook and tap the “Paste and download” button. And that’s all there is to it.

This option works great for those who aren’t worried about installing third-party software on their phones. If you’re like me and don’t want to bloat your phone with third-party apps, then using a web download is probably the best option.

Downloading Private Facebook Videos

We’ve covered how to download public views how-ever, a large majority of videos on Facebook are in private groups or chat. When users upload videos to Facebook, they can select whether to publish the video publicly or privately. If the video is private, it causes some problems as most downloads can only save public videos.

Thankfully, FBDownloader has an option for downloading private Facebook videos. Unfortunately, the process is not as easy as just pasting a video link as it required a few more steps, but it’s still pretty straightforward.

Navigate to the private Facebook video that you want to download on your PC. Once you’re on the video, right-click on the page and select view page source. A new window will appear with all the text that’s on the page. Select and copy all of that text to your clipboard.

Open up a new browser tab and head over to the private video downloader. Paste the page source you copied in the first step into the text box on the page and hit “Download video”.

The page will reload with the download options for the video. Just click on the one you’d like to have on your PC, and the private Facebook video will start to download onto your PC.

Downloading videos off Facebook can be complicated, but anyone can do it with the right tools and know-how. If you have any suggestions or recommendations, please let us know in the comments. Enjoy downloading your favorite Facebook moments.
