The Definition of Polarizing Film

Polarizing polyethylene film:

Using acid as a catalyst, the PVA is dehydrated, so that the PVA molecules contain a certain amount of ethylene structure, and then extended to orient themselves, so that it has partial rotation properties. At the moment, the technology is not very mature and less applied.

As one of the three main materials of the LCD, the performance of the LCD has an excellent relationship with the polarizer. In general, the polarizer film performance evaluation index is divided into appearance, optics, adhesion, weather resistance and other special properties.

Color performance:

The ordinary polarizer is gray, divided into medium and blue ash. However, with the variety of varieties of LCD, the corresponding demand for color polarizing film has also appeared, the most commonly used violet, while the others are blue, yellow, red and other colors of the Polaroid.

Effective thickness:

Refer to the total thickness of the polarizer, including the substrate thickness, the adhesive thickness and the thickness of the TAC protective film.

Polarization properties:

Polarization is also known as the polarization rate, which is defined as P = (I parallel -I vertical) / (I parallel + I vertical) x 100%, I parallel in the formula and I perpendicular to the polarized light of natural light and the direction of the vibration is transmitted along the deflection axis of the polarizer and the vertical polarization axis.

Transmittance and transmission spectrum:

The transmittance is T = Lout / I in, where Lout and I in are the intensity of the light intensity through the polarizer and the intensity of the incident polarizer.

In the ideal case, the light vibrates in the direction of the vertical polarization axis is completely absorbed, equivalent to half the light, i.e. T = 50%, usually the transmission speed, the parallel transmission and the direct transmittance.

Transmission spectrum: the LCD requires that the transmission of the polarizer in the visible light range is uniform. That the light transmission curve must be rectilinear, otherwise the emitted light will have a color that affects the visualization effect.

Color optical properties:

The color coordinates value (NBS) corresponding to the polarizer color is usually expressed in terms of three parameter values.

Adhesiveness:

Refer to the bonding properties of the pressure sensitive adhesive in the polarizer.

High temperature resistance:

Resistance to high temperatures refers to the appearance, optical properties and adhesion stability of the polarizer at a given cooking temperature. At the moment, it is divided into three degrees based on the technical degree of the polarizer.

Humidity and heat resistance:

The humidity and heat resistance index refer to the stability of the appearance, optics and adhesion properties of the Polaroid in conditions of constant temperature and humidity.
