The Wilderness Releases Its Grip on the Acclaimed Series ‘Yellowjackets’
The curtain is finally set to close on the wilderness saga as the team behind Paramount+/Showtime’s Yellowjackets reveals that the upcoming fourth season will be its last. According to Deadline, series creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson shared the news on social media late Friday evening, expressing their intent to steer the show toward a “twisted conclusion.”
Following three remarkable seasons, and after careful thought, we are thrilled to announce that we will conclude the Yellowjackets story in this fourth and final season. We have always felt that the narrative would eventually indicate when it should end, and we believe it is our duty to heed that signal. Crafting this intense, wild, and deeply human story has been an incredibly significant endeavor and an absolute privilege for us. We are immensely thankful to our brilliant cast, crew, and writers for their courageous commitment to this journey. Above all, we owe a huge thank you to our dedicated fans who have been with us through every twist, mystery, and meal—the Hive would be incomplete without you! We are eager to unveil the final chapter and hope you find it…delicious.
The series, which examines the descent into savagery of a group of teenage girls following a plane crash—and their lives decades later—has consistently been a top performer for Showtime on Paramount+. The viewership has continued to climb, particularly during its third season which premiered this past spring. (Showtime announced the renewal for the fourth season just a month following the season three finale.) The writing team has already been assembled for the fourth, and now concluding, season, with production expected to commence early in 2026. Audiences can anticipate the final season airing later that same year.
