Instead, the very first major security update has excluded the most vulnerable users, contradicting the app’s inclusive mandate. Although the app supports biometric unlocking methods like fingerprint scans and facial recognition, these features do not compensate for the lack of basic accessibility supports.

The backlash has been swift and severe, with many users expressing their dissatisfaction across various platforms, including direct feedback on the Google Play Store. In response, the GIE SESAM-Vitale, the entity behind the Carte Vitale app, has acknowledged the outcry. They’ve suggested that improvements to the keyboard are being considered and recommended activating biometric features for easier access.
