Are you ready to step back into the ring? Michael B. Jordan’s journey in the “Creed” series has been nothing short of a knockout, but it turns out the bell hasn’t rung just yet on this thrilling saga. With a mix of old charm and new twists, the “Creed” universe is expanding in ways that will excite fans and newcomers alike. Here’s the latest on what’s next for Adonis Creed and the world he fights in.
The Future of Creed: More Rounds to Come
Nearly two and a half years after Michael B. Jordan made his directorial debut with the electrifying “Creed III,” the continuation of the beloved “Rocky” spin-offs seems inevitable. In a recent interview with Variety, Jordan hinted at a potential “Creed IV,” suggesting that the gloves are far from hung up. He expressed his enthusiasm for the franchise, acknowledging the substantial creative possibilities that remain unexplored. Jordan mentioned, “With time, definitely. It’s a franchise that has been very generous to me on a large scale. I love MGM and Irwin Winkler and everything they have in store. I think there’s still a bit more story that can be squeezed out there.”
Jordan also pondered his future involvement in the ring, stating, “Do I want to be in the ring boxing for the next 15 years? Not so much. But I think there are clever ways and interesting characters we’ve established that we might want to see where they go, along with the introduction of new ones I have in mind. There could still be a couple more good punches left in the franchise.”
Expanding the Creed Universe: Welcome to Creed-verse
The “Creed” series isn’t just stopping with movies. Following industry trends, the intellectual property is set to make a significant leap to television with “Delphi,” a series initially rumored to focus on athletes from the boxing gym featured in the films. However, recent developments reveal that Amazon has decided to tweak the premise, focusing instead on a family-oriented storyline.
Jordan elaborated on the new direction, revealing plans for a spin-off centered around Adonis Creed’s daughter, Amara. “We’re making a spin-off about the story of Amara, Adonis’s daughter, in a television series commissioned by Amazon. So, you’re going to see different parts of the Creed-verse, as I call it. These little IPs will keep the universe alive without relying completely on me to carry it over the finish line every time as a boxer. I’ll be running parallel.”
This expansion into what Jordan dubs the “Creed-verse” follows the trend of cinematic universes like the MonsterVerse and the WarrenVerse, promising a fresh yet familiar continuation of the beloved sports drama series. This move is poised to keep the legacy of “Creed” vibrant and engaging for both box office and audiences, ensuring that the spirit of the series remains as compelling as ever.
