James Wan’s Latest Erotic Thriller, 56 Days, Debuts with Stunning First-Look Images

Oliver and Ciara’s romance kicks off at first sight but takes a dark turn when police show up at Oliver’s door less than two months later. Inspired by Catherine Ryan Howard’s bestselling novel 56 Days (originally titled Obsession), this erotic thriller unfolds through dual timelines that explore a fast-paced love affair and a murder investigation that abruptly ends it. The show features Dove Cameron from Schmigadoon! and Avan Jogia from Orphan Black: Echoes as the star-crossed lovers. The central mystery revolves around a decaying corpse found in Oliver’s apartment—is it Ciara, and did Oliver kill her? The answers will unfold throughout the series, which is expected to span less than 56 days.

Prime Video provides the following synopsis:

“In 56 Days, Oliver and Ciara’s chance encounter in a grocery store quickly escalates into a passionate, perilous romance. Fifty-six days later, detectives discover a gruesomely murdered and deliberately decomposed body in Oliver’s apartment. Who is the killer? The narrative alternates between the intense investigation day and the intricate details of the couple’s past relationship, offering a crime story that doubles as a compelling, sexually charged psychological thriller.”

The cast of 56 Days also includes Karla Souza (How To Get Away With Murder) and Dorian Missick (All Rise). The series is penned and executive produced by Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher. James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett also serve as executive producers through Atomic Monster, with Danielle Bozzone overseeing the project for the production company. Catherine Ryan Howard is involved as a co-executive producer. The show is a collaborative production between Amazon MGM Studios and Atomic Monster.
