iPhone’s Focus mode allows you to set times during the day when calls, messages, and app notifications won’t ring, allowing you to focus on your work without being interrupted.
The Definition of Focus Status Is as Follows
You may now let people know that you’re busy and won’t be responding to their texts when using any iOS Focus regimen. If you want to initiate a routine on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can do so by activating what Apple calls Focus Status.
Banners indicating your current focus status will appear at the end of any Messages threads in which you are participating. If you don’t want to be bothered when you’re gone or busy, you can always opt out of receiving SMS altogether. Focus Status is a courteous approach to inform others that you are now engaged in an important activity and will not be able to respond to their messages until you have finished.

Where to Find Information About How To Make Sharing Possible Status of Concentration
Focus Status can be communicated between Apple devices if the user has enabled device-wide synchronisation of their Focus settings. If you don’t sync your iPhone with your iPad or Mac, your contacts won’t be able to see if you’re busy or if a Focus is now running on your iPhone because you won’t be able to use the Focus Status feature.
- You may activate Focus sharing by going to Settings > Focus.
- Select the bottom toggle switch labelled “Share Across devices” and tap it to activate it.
- Simply tap the Focus Status option.
- Turn on the switch labelled “Share Focus Status” located near the top of your screen.

Getting the Word out About Your Current Focus Status
When you turn on Focus Status in iOS, by default, it will be broadcast to everyone in your address book. A Focus Status is automatically broadcast to all followers once it is created.
The sender of a text message to you during your Focus routine will see that your iPhone’s notifications are muted. This notification appears at the end of a thread in the Messages app.
However, they will not be updated on your Focus Status if you specifically exclude them from Focus Sharing. Verify that the person is not blocked from receiving messages from you in Messages if you know that your Focus Status is not being shared with them. For further information, check out our manual.
Instructions for Turning Off or On a User’s Focus Status
You may choose to turn off Focus Status for a certain contact if you don’t want to update them on your current focus. Even though this person is on your Allowed People list, you may not want to hear from them while you’re trying to concentrate.
If that’s the case, open the Messages app, find the discussion with the person you don’t want to share Focus Status with, and tap the “x” in the top right corner of the chat.
By doing so, you can prevent your Focus Status from being displayed to this person whenever you get a text message from them. To disable Focus Status for someone else, just follow the same procedure.
To allow them to see your current focus status, turn on Focus Sharing in the menu bar.
The option to toggle the Share Focus Status when using Messages does not appear.
When viewing a contact’s information in the Messages app on iOS, if the Share Focus Status toggle isn’t present, it’s possible that Apple has deactivated the capability. The ability to share Focus in the Messages app has been disabled in iOS 15.6 and later versions, which could be the cause of this problem.
If you go into someone’s contact details and click on “Send Read Receipts,” you won’t see the Share Focus Status option if you have deactivated it.
If you disable the Messages app in iOS’s privacy settings, you won’t be able to use Share Focus Status until you allow it again. The option to “share” your Focus status with a chosen person would reappear after you turned it on.

Having Trouble with Messages’ Focus Sharing Feature? Here’s how To Fix It
Share Focus Status won’t function properly until the Messages app is enabled in iOS’s personal settings. You can do this under the iPhone’s Settings menu.
In this section, you’ll find the Messages app listed among those that allow you to broadcast your current Focus status to contacts. In Messages, activate the “Shared With” slider to make the Focus Status feature visible to others.
My Focus Status Is Visible to Whom?
When you turn on Focus Status in iMessage, by default, it will be seen to anyone who sends you a message. Messages app users who have recently communicated with you will be the only ones to know if they are being muted or not.
If you include a contact in the Allowed People section of a Focus routine, they will continue to receive your messages as usual even if Focus is enabled on your devices. The other person will never be able to tell which Focus regimen you’ve activated on your iPhone, regardless of whether you share that information or not.

If I Set My Focus Status to “public,” when Will It Be Visible?
The people who have recently texted you will see your Focus Status in their discussion threads in the Messages app. A “Delivered Quietly” label will be displayed just below the message when someone texts you while a Focus routine is engaged on your iPhone.
