What happened to “IDK” and “TGIF”? Social media today is filled of annoying acronyms that our minds refuse to grasp. We added a bunch of unnecessary, specialised 15-letter acronyms; why?
Thankfully, we aren’t the only ones who have trouble keeping up with the jargon of the moment. There are a lot of acronyms floating around Instagram right now, and a lot of people don’t know what “CF” stands for. Read on to find out!
In the Instagram World, What Does “CF” Stand For?
At long last, the time has come that everyone has been anticipating. Therefore, without further ado, the term “CF” on Instagram refers to the relatively new function “Close Friends.”
With “Close Friends,” Instagram users can select a group of people to whom they will only show certain Stories, allowing them to share more intimate or private content with them.
To Create Your Own Own “Close Friends” List, Do the Following
- Navigate to your profile and click the burger menu in the upper left corner.
- At the bottom of the screen, select “Close Friends.”
- Assemble it with whoever and however you like; we’ll only provide a list of names to add to it.
- If you’ve already made a list of “Close Friends,” you can edit it at any time by hitting the “+” or “-” buttons, accordingly.
Let’s post an Instagram Story right now. There will be a toggle in the bottom left corner that lets you choose who can read your stories; if you choose “Close Friends,” only those people on your list will be able to see them, and they will be marked with a green badge. Your profile picture in Instagram Stories will also be surrounded by a green glow.
Your “Close Friends” Instagram Stories, like all Instagram Stories, will disappear after 24 hours. For their sake, I hope Instagram eventually fixes that so they can live for longer.
