An early scene features a Spider-Man in the original outfit from Insomniac’s PS4 game, while Miles Morales and Gwen Stacey explore a dimension filled with what appears to be dozens of Spider-Men.
To what extent this Spider-Man will appear in the film remains to be seen. Both the first film and Spider-Man: Far From Home feature cameos by the same suit.
The critically acclaimed animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has a sequel in the works titled Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
A June 2023 theatrical release has been scheduled for the picture starring Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld. Insomniac Games just confirmed that the release date for Spider-Man 2 will still be 2023.
Twitter users were wondering why another trailer for the game hadn’t been released since it was revealed, and the official Insomniac account chimed in with an explanation.
Concerns were voiced that the game wouldn’t be ready by its 2023 release date, but Insomniac quickly stepped in to put those worries to rest.
Don’t [worry], it urged. We’re on track to finish by 2023, and that’s great news. Putting on a game requires a lot of planning, manpower, money, and organisation.
Wolverine’s own PlayStation 5 video game is also in development by Insomniac. The studio claims that Spider-Man: Miles Morales directors Brian Horton and Cameron Christian will helm a new, standalone game.
According to Insomniac’s head of franchise strategy Ryan Schneider, “even though Marvel’s Wolverine is extremely early in development, from what I’ve seen of its emotive narrative and cutting-edge gameplay, the team is already developing something incredibly exceptional.”
