Like its predecessors, Quest 3 will be able to connect to high-end gaming PCs to play the best PC VR games. Meta may have mostly given up on PC VR, but it’s not quite ready to turn off the lights. A company representative told Road to VR that Oculus Link (also called Quest Link) and Air Link will still work with Quest 3.
With Oculus Link, users can connect their Quest headsets to their PCs through USB-C and use the Oculus PC program. From there, people can use the glasses to play Oculus PC games like Lone Echo and SteamVR games like Half-Life: Alyx with their PCs.
Quest 3 will also have Air Link, which is similar to PC VR but works wirelessly over Wi-Fi. As with previous versions of the headset, this could be a lifeboat for PC VR, which would otherwise be shrinking without a lot of Quest 2 users using their headsets to play PC VR games.
