Problems Sending Texts from Your iPhone? How to Repair It is Described Here

Posted on February 20, 2023 By Deepak Grover No Comments on Problems Sending Texts from Your iPhone? How to Repair It is Described Here

If your iPhone is unable to send text messages, you may feel alienated from your social circle. It’s possible that the issue with your iOS device is temporary, despite your fears to the contrary. Here are some easy solutions to try if your iPhone is having trouble sending texts.

If you want to send a message to a device that isn’t an iPhone, you can use the basic SMS texting feature. These guidelines work for all types of texting and are compatible with all iOS versions currently available.

How to Fix iPhone Text Messages Not Sending

The inability of your iPhone to send or receive text messages could be due to a number of factors, including issues with the cellular network or a simple software glitch. Some issues may become apparent only after they have been resolved.

Follow These Instructions to Get Your iPhone Sending Text Messages Again.

Link up with some online pals. If your iPhone is not linked to a cellular or Wi-Fi network, it will not be able to send text messages. You should check here first if your texts aren’t being delivered. (See how to fix an iPhone that won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network.)

It’s not a network issue if you can access the internet yet texting still doesn’t work. If you are unable to send or receive texts or access the internet, although your Wi-Fi and cellular data are both turned on, you are likely to be outside of a coverage region or the cellular network is experiencing technical difficulties.

Adjust the Airplane Mode slider. Turn off Airplane Mode or toggle it on and off repeatedly to compel the device to search for available networks. After your iPhone detects a network again, you should be able to send and receive texts normally. If you’re still having trouble sending messages, try moving to a location with better cellular or Wi-Fi reception.

Verify that the recipient’s phone number and email address are correct. Verify that you’re using the correct phone number and email address if your SMS still isn’t going through. Make sure you have the correct email address or phone number for the person you’re trying to reach.

Even if you know you’re reaching the proper person, they may have banned your number to prevent further contact. You might think your SMS aren’t being received because the recipient hasn’t seen them and won’t know to answer.  Remove and reinstall the Messages app. To fix memory management issues, closing and reopening an app is sometimes necessary. Please close the messaging app completely and restart it.

Turn off the iPhone and turn it back on. To fix many issues, a simple restart is often all that’s needed. Even if it doesn’t work in this specific situation, it’s an easy and quick step to take before digging into more involved solutions.

See what the current state of iMessage is. Perhaps the issue isn’t related to your iPhone at all; perhaps Apple’s servers are experiencing technical difficulties. To find out if iMessage is experiencing issues, go to Apple’s System Status page. If so, you’ll need to give Apple some time to fix it.

Check if the format of your message is accepted. Unfortunately, not all carriers support every type of text message. SMS (Short Messaging Service) is widely used and well-supported as the standard text messaging technology. Unfortunately, not all service providers are compatible with Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), which allows users to send and receive audio and video files.

Verify with your service provider that they support the type of text you wish to send. Currently, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon Wireless all allow MMS messaging.

Facilitate communication in your group by activating the appropriate settings. Verify that the settings to permit the inclusion of photos and videos in text messages, as well as the ability to transmit to multiple recipients at once, are turned on. To access your messages, go to your settings. Turn on MMS Messaging and Group Messaging by toggling the corresponding switches to the on position (green) under SMS/MMS.

Verify that the phone’s time and date are up to date. In order for your iPhone to properly detect the time and date, you must adjust the time and date settings. Move the Set to the desired time zone by going to Settings > General > Date & Time. The power will instantly turn on (green). Do a power cycle if it’s already on.

Bring back iMessage. It’s important to make sure iMessage is on if you plan on using it to send texts. It’s possible that an off switch was mistakenly flipped, which would explain the issue. To activate iMessage, go to Settings > Messages and then turn the iMessage switch to the On position (green).

Make sure your network settings are reset. The iPhone’s capability to connect to cellular networks can be adjusted via the device’s Network Settings. Failure to properly configure may prevent sending SMS. You can fix these issues by resetting your network preferences.

Maintain current network settings. In order for your iPhone to make calls, send data, and send texts over the cellular network, it must first communicate with the network. These parameters are subject to regular updates by wireless providers. Updating your carrier settings will ensure you have the most recent version.

Replace iOS with the latest version. If you want the most recent updates and bug fixes, update to the most recent version of iOS. When experiencing issues, it is recommended to update to the most recent version of iOS available.

Didn’t Work? What to Do Next

If you’ve already tried those solutions and your iPhone still won’t send texts, it’s probably time to call Apple support. If you need assistance with your Apple product, schedule a visit to the Apple Store.
