Leaked press renders of the OnePlus 8 have shown off all of the phone’s available colourways. A colour gradient that recalls Instagram’s icon is seen in one of the versions. Now, the same source has given us our first peek at a previously unseen colour option for the OnePlus 8 Pro in press renders.
In addition to the standard Onyx Black and Glacial Green, there will also be a brand-new Ultramarine Blue version of the OnePlus 8 Pro. Compared to the Really Blue of the original Pixel, the Ultramarine Blue is substantially darker. It’s a great shade that will sell like hotcakes. By not restricting both phones to a single colour scheme, OnePlus is showing good taste.
The 6.78-inch punch-hole screen on the OnePlus 8 Pro will support QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its predecessor, the OnePlus 7 Pro, also featured a curved display, and this one does as well. The maximum brightness is reportedly 1300 nits, and it supports a high dynamic range (HDR) of 10+.
There will be a maximum of 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage, along with the same Snapdragon 865 processor seen in the base model. It has a 48-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide angle camera, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3 times optical zoom, and a 5-megapixel colour sensor on the back. The camera up front has a 16-megapixel sensor.
The phone will come pre-loaded with wireless charging and reverse wireless charging functionality from OnePlus. We’ve been on the watch for information about OnePlus’s planned wireless charger to see if it will be released in tandem with the phone, but nothing has materialised as of yet. Live coverage of April 14, 2020, release of the OnePlus 8 series is scheduled.
