Our smartphones allow us to maintain relationships with people all around the world. However, you may be wondering if there is a method to add a number of your friends or family members into a group so that they can all talk to each other and partake in the joy of a good party.
You’ve lucked out, fortunately. Snapchat allows you to create a group chat with up to 63 of your friends, and up to 16 of those friends can participate in a video chat at the same time. In this article, we’ll explain how to use Snapchat’s group chat feature to have a conversation with a large number of your friends simultaneously.
Instructions for Establishing a Chat Among Several People
On the Friends screen, select the word bubble Chat icon (located in the bottom left corner of the screen) to initiate a new conversation. Click the New Chat button in the top right corner of the screen. This glyph resembles a speech bubble but is drawn with a pen instead of text. To add friends to the chat, press New Group and then select them from the list of friends that appears. Tap the Chat With Group button when you’re ready.
Best Practises for Facilitating a Productive Online Discussion
After establishing a group chat, you can modify its settings to suit your needs and those of its participants. Start by giving your conversation a name by tapping the pencil symbol in the upper-right corner. Instead of just messaging or exchanging pictures, you may start an audio or video conversation with up to 16 of your friends at once by tapping the Phone icon or the Video icon.
Your group chat room also doubles as a gaming hub. To begin, select a game from the menu that appears when you tap the rocket icon to the right of the chat window.
If someone is being too loud, you can erase their messages by tapping on them. When you right-click on the message, a menu will appear from which you can choose to save, copy, or discard the message.
How to Enlarge the Group
Of course, the more people there are, the better. Fortunately, inviting new people to join your conversation is a breeze. Hold down the group chat’s name on the Friends screen. In the new window, select More, then tap Add Members To The Group. Just pick some people to add to your current conversation from the list.
Exiting a Chat Room Group
Snapchat’s group conversations stand out because they allow you to leave without disrupting the conversation for other users. Go to the Friends screen and long-press the group chat button. To exit the group, pick More from the drop-down option that displays. You will see a confirmation window appear, asking you to confirm that you really do wish to leave the group. Once you’ve made up your mind, you can run away. Keep in mind that after you leave the group, you will lose access to all of your chats, including any saved messages.
As simple as it is to leave a group chat, all of your previous messages will be deleted the moment you do (including chats that other people saved). You can mute a conversation if you want to remain involved but silence the constant interruptions that are driving you crazy. Returning to the previous menu, select Message Notification, and finally select Silent to do this.
Doing so will allow you to stay a part of the group without always being bombarded with notifications. The popularity and widespread adoption of Snapchat can be attributed to the app’s wide range of functions, but we find that the group chat function is its true calling card (if used correctly, of course).
