How to Fix an Android Device that Is Running Slowly in Easy Steps?

Posted on January 17, 2023 By Emma Stone No Comments on How to Fix an Android Device that Is Running Slowly in Easy Steps?

If you own an Android device, it’s possible that your device will slow down or stop working as time goes on. It doesn’t matter if you use a cheap phone or a top-of-the-line one. If you use the phone for a long time, you may run into the same problems. In this article, you’ll learn how to fix problems with your Android phone that cause it to slow down. So, to get the best results, make sure to read until the end.

Clear Cache

Cache Is One of The Main Reasons Why Your Android Slows Down. when You Use an App or Visit a Website, the Site Downloads Things Like Photos, Cookies, and Other Things without Telling You.

This uses a lot of your storage space. It affects your ROM (internal storage) and RAM (random access memory) (performance-related memory). For Example: Look at this screenshot from my phone of Clash of Clans. It is only 127 MB to download, but because of the cache, it is taking about 753 MB! So, you can get a sense of how it might hurt you.

How Do I Clear the Cache?

It’s easy for you to fix cache problems on your phone. To fix it, go to Settings on your device. Find “Storage” and click “cached data.” This would clear the cache, so you could see for yourself how things had changed. Your phone will speed up a lot. You could also get some programs like CCleaner or AVG Cleaner and install them. With one tap, these apps could do the same thing.

Also, many companies, like Samsung, have built-in services that can be used to clear the cache. Samsung’s “Device Care” gives you the option to have cached data deleted automatically. So, you don’t have to manually delete the cache because the app will do it for you.

Disable/ Uninstall Unused Apps

When you buy a new phone, it already has a number of apps on it. Most of the time, you don’t use them as much, and they just make your phone heavier.

Also, you might not be able to get rid of those apps, like Google Apps, etc. Then you should just turn off those apps. To do this, press and hold the app icon for a few seconds and then tap “Disable.” This way, the app won’t stay in your app tray, giving you more space on your device.

In newer versions of Android, you can also put many apps to sleep. With “sleep,” you don’t delete the app, but instead, put it into “standby” mode until you want to use it again. You should also make it a habit to keep track of all the apps you use often and uninstall the ones you don’t. By doing this, you can make the devices work a lot better.

Disable Auto Sync

Auto Sync is a feature of Android that keeps you up to date on your emails and other things while it runs in the background. Since it keeps running in the background, it uses up a lot of RAM, which slows down your phone. This slows down your phone more.

So, if you want to use your phone faster, you should turn off Auto Sync. To do so, you may go to Settings. Look for “Accounts” in Settings. Scroll all the way to the bottom, and you’ll find an option called “Auto Sync.” Shut it down. Many phones have an option in the notification panel to turn Auto Sync on or off.

Software Updates

With each new version of the software, companies improve the user experience. Also, they fix a lot of bugs. Bugs can also cause your phone to freeze. So, you should always keep the software on your phone up to date to keep it from running slowly.

You have to go back to Settings to see if you have the latest software update. There, look for the option that says “Software Update” and click on it. You will see options that say “Manually Download” or “Check For Updates.” If you click on this, you can download and install the most recent versions.

Multitasking

All of the apps you use use a certain amount of your phone’s RAM. If you have a lot of apps running in the background, more of your RAM will be used, leaving less RAM for the app you want to use. So, make sure to close any apps you don’t want to see in the list of recent apps. With this, you will have less trouble with hanging.

These are some simple but very important things you can do to fix a slow Android phone and make it work better. If you have any questions, you can ask them in the comments section below.
