It was discovered by content creator JorRaptor that the company has posted 17 job openings for a new “online project,” with several of the descriptions confirming that the project is a Horizon game.
An advertisement for a lead world designer position reads, “Guerrilla is looking for a Lead World Designer to deliver the expanding Horizon universe to a multiplayer audience.”
There is also an opening for a “Senior Combat Designer,” who will “help build a variety of Machine adversaries that are magnificent, hard, and unforgettable to fight collaboratively,” according to the listing.
According to VGC’s sources, Guerrilla has been planning to add multiplayer to Horizon for quite some time now. According to previous reports, the inclusion of cooperative gameplay in the original Horizon game was considered but eventually dropped so that more time could be spent on other aspects of the game.
They claimed Sony wanted co-op in this year’s entry, Horizon Forbidden West, but Guerrilla held off on including it in order to save it for what they thought would be either a spin-off game released online or the third main instalment in the series.
Horizon Forbidden West’s first expansion, Burning Shores, will be released in April 2023, and Horizon Call of the Mountain will be a PlayStation VR2 launch title in February 2023.
