Google Meet is an improved version of Google Hangouts and is renowned for its crystal-clear video conversations. It is a video-conferencing tool that speeds up and simplifies video conferences for users.
Businesses and the school sector continue to use the app for online communication even if demand for it peaked during the COVID-19 blackout. Google is
likely to provide additional improvements to the software now that online meetings are commonplace and are not anticipated to become obsolete very soon.
In order to prevent hiccups and shorten meeting times, the firm recently implemented some new upgrades to Google Meet. These updates allow the first
moderator to choose a co-host before the meeting even begins. In order to further divide the conference’s total attendees into smaller groups during the
meeting, the moderator is also permitted to set up break-out rooms in advance using Google Calendar.
The latest upgrades will likely make video conferences on Google Meet function more smoothly because the host can now enable or disable security settings
before a meeting begins. Turn the option to “let everyone send messages” on or off, for instance, and decide whether to allow everyone to attend the meeting.
Furthermore, the host has the option of choosing a co-host before the meeting begins, which also prevents any foreseen hiccups.
Admins can consult the Google help center for further details on the host management settings and safety settings management of Google Meet.
Organizers can now alter the host and co-host control settings when setting up a new video call on the Google Calendar by clicking “Add Google Meet video
conferencing” where they will find “Video call options” (settings icon). By pressing that icon, they will find the “host controls or co-hosts,” where they can
modify the host settings and choose additional moderators before the meeting begins.
The new feature will be unveiled this month and will be fully accessible and available across all devices within 15 days because it will be released in stages.
This Google-created video conferencing program is reportedly updated frequently with new features.
Google recently introduced a new configuration panel feature on the meet that makes it simpler for its operators to quickly employ effects like backdrop
blurring, styles, and background images, even while they are in the middle of a video conversation.
To prevent any embarrassing situations for the meeting participant, Google has also introduced the “leave empty meeting prompt.” When no one else is
present in the meeting and they are the only ones waiting, this feature sends a reminder to the user to end the video chat.
