Zenimax Online Studios published the finalized patch notes for The Elder Scrolls Online’s upcoming Greymoor Chapter and Update 26 in the early morning
(at least where I’m sitting on the US West Coast).
The patch notes are quite extensive, covering everything from the new content to the modifications made to The Elder Scrolls Online’s Vampire skill line.
There are other corrections and adjustments on that front inside these notes, which is fantastic news for those wondering if Zenimax has made any additional
enhancements to the game’s performance. Specifically, more processes have been made multi-core/multi-threaded, such as player rendering.
Before it shut down, I poked around a little bit on the Greymoor PTS and discovered that places with a high concentration of players, like the “new” city of
Solitude, made the game operate more smoothly. It was impressive all around that I was able to move about while having a large number of gamers around
without my frame rate going below 90. We still don’t know how these changes will affect Cyrodiil, which has experienced debilitating performance troubles
over the past few months.
This update also includes the new Antiquities system, which allows players to scour Tamriel for leads to lost treasures and antiquated spoils. The mythology
buffs out there will like this new mini-game-heavy activity, but regular players will be more than happy with the themes, furnishings, Mythic gear, and the
first-ever in-game wolf mount. To max out both of the Antiquities system’s two skill lines, you will need 30 skill points. So, yes… I’m hoping you have some of
those set aside for a snowy day.

repairs make up the majority of the routine game updates, there are some fascinating side notes included as well (such as werewolf adjustments).
A free prologue chapter for Greymoore is now available in advance of the story’s launch. Paired with a limited-time free-play period, you can dip a toe into the new content. Parent company Bethesda also recently announced that it is canceling the digital showcase that it had planned to give in absence of its E3 appearance.

The Elder Scrolls Online v5.3.8 has some fixes for the Undo and Burning Embers abilities, the Stone Keeper fight in Frostvault, a game crash, and a couple of other smaller bug fixes. Investigations are still ongoing for the ability desyncs and lag, as mentioned in last week’s performance update. The size of this patch is approximately 61MB.
Dungeons

Dragonknight
- Ardent Flame
- Burning Embers: Fixed an issue where the heal from this ability was not working when utilizing Searing Heat and Elfbane at the same time.
Guild
- Psijic Order
- Undo:
- Fixed an issue where this ability could fail to properly animate your character as you rewound through time.
- Fixed an issue where this ability could fail to rewind time.
- Note: This fix may cause strange animation issues when using this Ultimate while standing completely still for 4 or more seconds, where your character does not get rewound in position. This particular issue will be fixed in a future patch as fixing the functionality was prioritized.
- Undo:
Battlegrounds
- Fixed a small location in Mor Khazgur where your character would not die from falling as intended.
General
- Fixed an issue that could, under rare circumstances, cause Murkmire Strongboxes to be awarded from Senchal Reward Chests.
General
- Fixed an issue in the UI texture management which could cause a crash.
PlayStation 4 Patch Notes v2.02
The Elder Scrolls Online v2.02 includes some adjustments to help with the recent input delays and desyncs while in combat, in addition to a fix where breaking free could become delayed, spamming block disconnecting you to the login screen, and several crash fixes. Also included is a fix for the Soul Shriven in Coldharbour questline, some invisible collisions found in Morkul Stronghold, and more.
Dungeons
- Icereach
- The Brush Fire achievement can now be completed.
- You will now only be able to revive in situations normally allowed in Icereach.
- Fixed an issue where some quest story elements would appear to become stuck if all players were to leave the scene and then return.
Arenas
- Blackrose Prison
- Drakeeh the Unchained is no longer partaking in Murkmire health concoctions and as such, his health has returned to normal levels.
Quests
- Empty Nest: Fixed a number of issues in which Krona and Ree-Nakal could get stuck while spawning for the final boss fight.
General
- Fixed an issue causing invisible collision and floating NPCs in Morkul Stronghold.
- Adjusted the collision in Orc Long Houses to allow your character to move about them once more.
Quests
- The Crystal Tower: The Golden Knight will once again follow you properly during the final parts of the quest.
General
- In an effort to address recent input delays and desyncs when casting abilities, we have optimized how messages (how the server/client communicate with each other) are sent.
- Fixed an issue where breaking free could become delayed for about a second in some situations.
- Repeatedly activating and dropping Block will no longer kick you from the server, returning you to the login screen.
- Fixed an issue where interacting with an objective, such as a Chaos Ball or Volendrung, could prevent you from activating Block or Sprint.
- Fixed an issue where your client would report your Stamina Recovery as 0 after activating Sprint or Mount Sprint in some situations.
Nightblade
- Assassination
- Incapacitating Strike: This Ultimate no longer silences the target but instead stuns them for 3 seconds if cast with 120 or more Ultimate. This change was primarily done to fix an issue where the unique silence applied from this ability conflicted with some recent hard-coded block behaviors.

General
- Robes and boots from the Pyandorean Motif no longer appear invisible when worn.

Crown Store
