Are Lenovo Laptops Worth Buying? (The Answer Is Absolutely)

Posted on November 20, 2020January 11, 2022 By admin No Comments on Are Lenovo Laptops Worth Buying? (The Answer Is Absolutely)

Did you know that one in four computers sold from the third quarter of 2019 to 2020 is from Lenovo? In fact, Lenovo laptops and desktops have been best-sellers for several years now. It continues to beat Hewlett-Packard by millions in shipped units.

That should give you an idea as to how popular this Chinese computer maker is.

The question now is, does its immense popularity also equate to quality?

Yes, it does, and we’re here to tell you why exactly that’s the case. Keep reading to learn more about Lenovo as a brand and why you should consider buying a Lenovo laptop.

A Quick Background

Lenovo’s official company name is “Lenovo Group Limited.” It’s a Chinese multinational technology company and a Fortune Global 500 Company. It ranks 224th in the exclusive Fortune list, with its total revenues amounting to $51.71 billion.

Lenovo’s reach extends to at least 180 markets all over the world. It employs over 63,000 workers. It also boasts three headquarters, one of which is in the United States.

Lenovo’s Claim to Fame

One of the top reasons Lenovo is so popular is due to its extensive range of budget-friendly laptops. For instance, the brand’s cheapest Chromebook costs a little over two hundred bucks. If you need something under $500, you have dozens of units and models to choose from.

Another reason for Lenovo’s fame is its immense product line consisting of six brands. These brands include traditional Lenovo laptops, ThinkPad, ThinkBook, Yoga, Legion, and IdeaPad.

Lenovo further classifies its offers based on users. Whether you’re a student, a gamer, or a business consumer, you’ll find a Lenovo device that meets your needs.

Easy Enough to Use, Powerful Enough for Play

Except for Chromebooks, all other Lenovo devices run on Windows 10. That makes things simpler for most people, as more than three in four computer users rely on Windows 10. Plus, the OS comes pre-installed, so there’s no extra installation fee you have to worry about.

In addition, Lenovo laptops come pre-equipped with an app called “Lenovo Vantage.” It’s an easy-to-use interface that lets you customize settings and tweak Wi-Fi settings. You can even set it to automate driver updates or run diagnostics with a few clicks.

All these make Lenovo an ideal partner for all ages, young or old.

However, its ease-of-use doesn’t make it any less powerful. In fact, most of Lenovo’s $500 and above offers come with a multi-core processor.

For example, the base Flex series, which starts at $550, already comes with a dual-core processor. For an extra $120, you can get the Flex 5 configuration, which boasts a six-core processor. Plus, you get a long-lasting battery life that can give you between 12 and 13 hours of juice.

Octa-Core for the Hardcore (Gamers)

Lenovo manufactures budget gaming laptops that run on a quad- or a hexa-core processor. However, it also offers premium gaming laptops that boast octa-core processors. This means that the processors come with not four, not six, but eight cores.

While six-core processors are enough for most games, eight-core ones are even faster. With these, you can say goodbye to lags or glitches that often precede that big red “GAME OVER” on your screen.

Beautiful, Green Packaging

Many of Lenovo’s computers come with sleek, incredible-looking, durable cases. However, what makes them astounding is that they consist of recyclable materials.

In fact, it’s the first-ever computer maker to earn a Gold-level UL Environment rating. That was back in 2011 when it launched the Lenovo ThinkPad T420.

Today, Lenovo laptops and PCs utilize post-consumer recycled content (PCC) plastics. PCC is a re-engineered plastic material that comes from end-of-life consumer products. The plastic resin that makes it to the final Lenovo device contains anywhere from 10% to 85% PCC.

So, if you’re a green consumer or would like to become more eco-conscious, consider Lenovo.

Outstanding Battery Life

Many Lenovo laptop reviews back up the company’s battery life claims. For example, the Lenovo Yoga C940 lasted for almost 12 hours under stringent tests. The Lenovo Chromebook Duet lasted an hour more, only running out of juice after 12 hours and 46 minutes.

However, Lenovo says that the latest generation can last twice as long. For instance, the Flex 5G, which Lenovo claims is the world’s first-ever 5G PC, can last for up to 26.5 hours. Standard video playback or gaming cuts its life by half, but that’s still an impressive 13 hours.

On average, though, most mid-tier Lenovo laptops run for at least 10 hours between charges. If you usually study or work on-the-go, then a Lenovo laptop may be a great partner.

Reliable Tech Support Paired With Numerous Repair Centers

Lenovo has five technical support departments, with one dedicated to PC/laptop users. It also has separate departments for sales, business, and customer service. This makes sense, considering that it’s the top-selling computer maker in the world.

This also means you have plenty of options to get in touch with them if you need help with Lenovo repair services. The tech or CS agent can also assist you in finding the nearest authorized repair center.

Best of all, there’s no weekend when it comes to Lenovo support. You can get ahold of them any day of the week. They’re only open during business hours, though, so you won’t get an answer if you call at midnight.

So, Are Lenovo Laptops Good?

You bet they are. Lenovo laptops focus on affordability, long battery life, and overall longevity. As such, you can expect to find one that fits your needs, no matter how high or low your budget may be.

Don’t forget that Lenovo has some of the best sustainable practices out there. So, if you want a user-friendly, reliable, and eco-conscious electronic partner, consider Lenovo.
