Apple Battersea is the 40th Apple Store in the UK. It is on the ground floor of Turbine Hall A in the rebuilt Battersea Power Station. The building is a defunct coal-fired power station. It is known as an iconic landmark because it has Art Deco features and is one of the biggest brick buildings in the world.
The store is built around four original brick piers from the 1930s, and the ceiling has visible steel supports. The walls have a framework of wood shelves that are covered with oak veneer and a new set of fixtures that define a Genius Bar, a hardware flex space, an Apple Watch Studio, a pickup area, and more.
With the new design, Apple has made more room for people to walk around the store’s edges. The sound in the store is clearer now that there are new acoustic baffles on the roof. Apple Battersea also uses more polymers instead of things that use a lot of carbon to make them.
In recent years, Apple stores no longer had real Genius Bars, but Apple Battersea has a Genius Bar in the back left corner. Since 2015, this is the second full-fledged Genius Bar that Apple has put in one of its stores. The new Genius Bar has a bar where people can stand and get help, as well as a lower area where people can sit and get help.

The hardware area in the store is made to show off Apple’s newest products and can be changed over time. There is also an Apple Watch Studio where people can mix and match Apple Watch bands and cases in person.
Today at Apple sessions at the store, like photo and art walks around the building, get ideas from the area. Apple Music will have live acts outside the store for the rest of the week to celebrate the opening of Apple Battersea.
Apple’s new UK offices, which can fit about 3,000 employees, are also in Battersea Power Station. Apple takes up about 40% of the whole building. This includes the top six floors, which used to be the boiler room and are arranged around a central courtyard. In 2016, the company first talked about plans for the new site. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, told London’s Evening Standard last year:

In the past few years, Battersea Power Station and the area around it have been “painfully” fixed up. In addition to Apple’s offices, the building has three floors of shops, bars, and restaurants, a 24,000-square-foot food hall, 253 flats around a “garden square in the sky,” a 2,000-seat auditorium and movie theater, and more.
